Place An Adjustment Layer On Top
Sometimes, lens flare has a color. Light spots often show up as bright green in photographs and can ruin the overall color scheme. One of the best ways to eliminate tinted spots is by using an Adjustment Layer.
You can find the Adjustment Layer option at the bottom of the Layers Panel. There, navigate to Hue and Saturation and click OK. Select spots of lens flare and drag the Lightedness Slider on the side panel to match the color of the glare to the background tone. You can also use the Black Mask and the Brush Tool to remove an area by hand.

Glare is a common problem in photography with human subjects wearing glasses, as lights are prone to bouncing off the surface of the glass. With glasses Photoshop is often the best option. You can remove flares by entering the Camera Raw window. From here, you can adjust the brush size to paint over and select an unwanted area, then turn off the Overlay and Mask option.
Using the sliders on the side, you can make adjustments to bright spots until it matches the tone of the skin or eyes underneath. Adjusting the Dehaze Slider is often one of the most effective ways of reducing glass glare. The Spot Healing Brush can help soften sharp edges.
If you still see a flare, you can fine-tune photos using Clone Stamp. Create a new layer to preserve the original, and then use reference points from around the skin and eye to copy colors and get rid of bright spots. To cover up any seams, simply select around the inner rim of the glasses and slightly enlarge the image.

Use Adjustment Brush & Clone Stamp To Edit Glare Out
Let’s continue editing the photo from the previous method. This time, we will take a more detailed approach.
Start PhotoWorks. Move to the Retouch tab and select the Adjustment Brush option. In the Basic settings tab, set the brush size at 24. Paint over the flash glare with your Adjustment Brush. Change the selected region settings: move the highlights slider to -3, choose 100 for shadows and blacks, and -67 for whites. Eliminate the glares on the girls nose, her cheeks, chin and the areas under her eyes in the same way.
To completely take the glare out of the picture, switch back to the Retouch tab and choose Clone Stamp. Set the tool size at 12 and its opacity at 70. Paint over the nose glare and select the clone source. Choose a similarly graded area so that the face looks natural after editing.
Use the same tool settings for the girls nose bridge and clone a such-like region of her forehead.
To get rid of the cheeks glare, replace them by suitable areas from her cheeks and forehead.
Reduce glare on her chin, philtrum columns and under her eyes in the same way.
To remove the largest glare from the subjects forehead, set the stamp size at 30. Correct this defect bit-by-bit if the patch borders get visible, use the same tool to cover them up.
Take a look at the portrait – the result is impressive! To make sure, compare the edited photo with the sourse. Click Save to keep the picture.

Change Your Camera Position
When light enters your lens directly you need to change your position so your camera is not pointed in the direction of the light source.
Reflected glare can be dealt with in the same way, but for a different reason.
Light reflects off a flat surface at the same angle that it strikes the surface. If you move your camera position to a different angle the reflection is no longer a problem.
Moving a little to your left or right, up or down, will often achieve the desired result. As you move, pay attention to whats happening with the light as you do. You may want to retain some of the effects the glare is causing.
Hiding the glare behind your subject or another element in your composition is also possible. You can try positioning your camera so that an object in your composition blocks the unsightly brightness.

Each photo will require a slightly different approach, so I recommend you learn all of these methods. Then, with each new image, you can apply different techniques or even combine them as needed.
Add An Adjustment Layer
This technique is effective at reducing glass glare with color.
- Select Hue and Saturation from the menu.
- Now, click the flare spot to select the color.
- Move the Lightness slider to the left until the color of the glare matches the background.
- Adjust the other sliders to get rid of more color if needed.

- Select the Black Mask and the Brush Tool.
- Brush over the glare spots. You will be able to see the changes you make in the layer mask.

A sharp contrast between the highlights and shadows of a photo can make it appear that theres more of a glare than is actually present.
Make sure you can edit both highlights and shadows by navigating to the Image Adjustments box in Photoshop.
By dragging down the Shadows Slider and pushing the Highlights Slider forward, you can determine just how much contrast you want between the two.
Make sure you can make adjustments to the Tone Slider and Radius Slider by clicking the Show More Options box to also help reduce the appearance of harsh light.
